Location: the Ranch is located in Val-des-Lacs in the Laurentian Mountains, Québec, Canada.
Distance by car: 30 minutes from Mont-Tremblant, 75 minutes from Montréal and 120 minutes from Ottawa.

Ranch area: the Ranch covers an area of 60 million square feets, about the equivalent of 3,177 acres or 5.5 million m2.

Elevation: Val-des-Lacs is the municipality with the highest elevation in the Laurentians.

Climate: The Ranch welcomes visitors throughout the year. In winter, the temperature falls between 0C and -30C; in spring it varies between 2C and 15C; in summer, between 20C and 30C; in fall, between 0C and 15C.

Fauna: deer, moose, black bears, hares, foxes, wolves, beaver and numerous bird species including grouse and loons.

Flora: maple, birch, spruce, pine and other varieties of plants typical of the Laurentian Shield.

Waterways: lakes, streams and creeks. It’s interesting to note that the Laurentian region includes some 6,000 lakes.
Fish: brook trout and rainbow trout. Fishing access available to certain private lakes..

: Do I already need to know how to ride a horse in order to go on an excursion at Ranch Mont-Tremblant?
A: No, the basic principles will be explained to you prior to your first outing.

: Can I come and use your trails with my own horse?
A: Yes, however the Ranch will supply you with a guide for your own safety.

: I learned to ride using an English saddle. Is this likely to pose a problem?
A: No, it’s even easier with a western saddle.

: What type of horseback-riding excursions do you organize? Walking; trotting; galloping?
A: All three types are available, depending on your experience.

: What should I wear?
A: Long pants, a windbreaker, boots with heels. In winter, a tuque, gloves and snowpants are needed. And don’t forget your camera!

: What happens if I forget to bring something?
A: Clothing and boots suitable for horseback riding are available on the site for free.

: Can I bring my pet along?
A: No, in order to ensure the safety of both horses and guests, it is not possible to bring any pets to the Ranch.

: Are children allowed to come and ride?
A: Children aged 9 and over can take part in excursions on horseback. Children have to be 14 or over if they wish to take part in the cattle drive.
